Michael L. Nordlund, M.D., Ph.D. is an Ophthalmic surgeon specializing in corneal and ocular surface disease, cataracts and refractive surgery. Dr. Nordlund has patient clinics and performs surgery at the Cincinnati Eye Institute (CEI) Montgomery Road office and Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Dr. Nordlund received his Doctorate Degrees in Medicine and Neuroscience from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at Kellogg Eye Center at University of Michigan. He subsequently completed subspecialty training on the medical and surgical management of corneal and ocular surface disease, and cataract and refractive surgery prior to joining CEI.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Nordlund is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at University of Cincinnati, where he directs laboratory research on diseases of the ocular surface. His work has been published in numerous scientific papers and he has authored several chapters in textbooks on the ocular surface and cornea. Dr. Nordlund continues to lecture at national and international meetings on ocular surface disease and cataract surgery.
Dr. Nordlund has been elected into several honor societies including Alpha Omega Alpha and the Society for Heed Fellows. He is also a member of many professional societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Paton Society, the Cornea Society (formerly the Castroviejo Cornea Society) and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
